Imperfect Perfection
Documenting the daily practices of my children as they learn the violin and cello, the “Imperfect Perfection” series captures the passion and hard work inherent in their musical journey. Motivated by their persistence, concentration, and struggles, I meticulously study their learning process, expressing my reactions and emotions towards their progress through repetitive experimentation. Influenced by avant-garde expressionists like A-Sun Wu, Egon Schiele, Jim Dine, and Kathe Kollwitz, my work in this series aims to be expressive, conveying the unique characteristics of each muscle on a human face and exploring the collaborative spirit of musicians. Through this series, I hope to resonate with all music learners and those around them, reconnecting memories, inspiring dreams, and encouraging the nurturing of children’s talents within families, schools, and communities.
